Commercial Banking to IB or ER?
I am a Junior at a non-target (3.6 GPA finance) that is going to be a commercial banking SA at a very large international bank (not BB). I basically took this offer because I didn't make the cut in my previous super days and the other ones I had lined up didn't fit the timeline of deciding on my offer. I had an ER super day at a MM but I was told the interview would be later than the date I was required to get back to the firm I got the offer from. I didn't want to face the possibility of not having a SA spot so I took it.
While I will def give CB a try this summer, I'm looking at prospects for full-time recruiting in case it is not a good fit for me. My true interests are in ER, but the skills from CB don't apply at all. While there isn't a tremendous amount of transferable skills from CB to IB, I feel as tho it will be slightly easier because of both IB and CB and transaction-based roles. Does anyone have any advice?
