Curious about investment banking careers
Greetings,
I am a rising senior at a target school with no previous banking experience, besides a research position at the World Bank. I am interested in exploring careers in IB and PE, but I have never put much effort into the job hunt in the past. I have never had a summer analyst position at a large bank, but I would like to learn skills and job hunt tips to find a position that will give me exposure to interesting industries and fields. What is a good approach for someone in my position?
A good approach would be to use the search function and start reading this forum.
Thanks I really just posted this because the system asked me too. I've been reading quite a few posts this morning and I like what I've seen so far. banana for you
Can also recommend MI, lots of helpful articles. MI and WSO were basically my starting point about two to three years ago and luckily I managed to secure a SA offer at BB this summer. Just be careful if you're a non-US citizen, most info is tailored to the US market and not always equally true for e.g. Europe.
Good luck!
Thanks again for the resource. Luckily, I'm a dual citizen. My main concern for IB is that it seems to be closed to people who haven't had previous banking experience. If you have any insights on that, I'd greatly appreciate it.
