CVP vs Lazard - NY
Don't mind the 3 year analyst program at CVP, do exits to MF PE/Growth Equity differ between the two?
Appreciate it!

Career Resources
Bump
Yes, significantly. Choose CVP. Comp is better, exits particularly for WC PE firms is far superior. No one who cares about your best interest will say Lazard.
Centerview doesn't let you recruit for PE. Lazard all but encourages it. Given the rep of the firms is roughly equal Lazard is a much better choice from an exit perspective. CVP is a great gig if you want to be a career banker though.
Their consistent exits into WP and Dragoneer say otherwise, intern.
Have close friends at CVP who say that buyside recruiting is difficult and uncommon from CVP.
CVP is commonly seen as the best place for career bankers, and they do everything they can to stop you from recruiting. They claw back your (50k) sign on bonus if you leave before year 3, and they offer a 200k one time bonus to go A2A. Thus, analysts are incentivized to stay with the firm.
People still leave for buyside but it’s definitely less common. Exiting to corporate roles seems to be more popular. I’d say that Lazard would give you a better shot since it’s a more well trodden path.
The paycut from Centerview to corporate sounds brutal.
