CVP's new Chicago office?

Hey Guys,

Heard that CVP is starting a new chicago office, possibly headed by Rahm Emanuel (former mayor). I'm going to starting soon as a SA at a BB bank on the West Coast, and having explored most of the state, I'm looking to possibly recruit for Chicago for FT opportunities. I couldn't find much about this office (including linkedin), so I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this office (are they hiring FT, what will they cover, etc) and also just information about the Chicago IB space in general. I understand it is mostly Industrials, but was wondering what the top BB/EB players are for corporate strat/dev exit opps (I have absolutely no interest in PE).

Thanks for the help, and hope 2021 proves to be much better for all of us

I gotta say I failed to mention that I strongly dislike the bay (not to mention the type of pretentious little shits big tech attracts), and Chicago's low COL is something that I find quite appealing. Mostly I know that a couple strong healthcare/pharma companies are based near chicago (Abbott, AbbVie, Baxter, etc) and would be interested in joining their Corp Dev teams. If there's any strong healthcare coverage groups, or any other groups that place into firms like those I'd love to learn more about them

Corp dev is much more ad hoc than pe recruiting and looking at LinkedIn, it doesn’t seem like those places you mentioned have many if any junior professionals within Corp dev. Saw a few in corporate strategy at abbvie and both came had bcg consulting backgrounds. If you know you want to work in healthcare and in Chicago, William Blair has the best hc group in the city (granted no BB/EB have a hc presence in Chicago). I doubt there are any Corp dev exits in chicago that you couldn’t get coming from Blair given its fantastic reputation in the city of chicago
