Dealing with people who you just can't stand talking to

Recently have been working on a deal with this new associate on my team and the level of incompetence is unbearable. He simply doesn't understand what I am telling him and I have to circle back every email to re-iterate or re-phrase instructions / requests.

I am starting to think it's a problem that I am having dealing with this guy as this type of scenario has happens numerous times to me before - that is, I feel a complete disconnect in communication with certain people while I have exceptional communication with others. Perhaps its not me, and this guy is a complete moron.

Thoughts?

Ok.. yea you’re an intern or analyst at best. A VP has at least 3+ years of managerial experience alone so why would an experienced and competent monkey manager be whining on WSO asking college kids and analysts how to deal with an incompetent colleague? What kind of dimwit “vp” are u lol
