I had a friend in tech at DB. He ended up leaving to join the M&A group. A lot of people I know at db tech left for like Wells Fargo and PJT. It’s not the best shop for tech anymore. RBC is good imo, ofc DB had a better brand name. In the end doesn’t matter too much. I think RBC tech has very high full time offer rates like pretty much 100%. My friend at DB tech said they returned 2 or 3/5. In the end you want to go to a place where you can get the return and good mentorship. I think both are good.
curious, if you had to pick which one would you choose? I am extremely confused. Looking in terms of exits and the possibility that I rerecruit.
RBC. better exits + comp
can you elaborate? I could not find any information on either exits or comp.
RBC has better reputation in tech and better exits for MM/UMM tech pe in sf. RBC also pays more but it's a drop in the bucket in the grand scheme.
Source: had a friend at RBC that exited
Heard DB culture is great in SF, and my friend said they’re hiring aggressively at senior level for tech group.
could you elaborate? I am looking to exit after my analyst years. which will position me better?
they are hiring aggressively the MDs who got laid off from UBS and Barclays
Tech is a bit of a mid-low tier group at RBC but the M&A team gets good reps and I think exits are solid. SF Tech M&A specifically have good folks (Nik is a good guy to work with from what I've heard/observed).
Can't comment on DB.
can I pm. curious about the exits if you could elaborate on that.
what did u end up picking?
