Well after an informational interview, someone has to look at your cover letter/CV and they will want to see grades. So there's no point lying - you might as well just hope they don't ask.
But not the person who referred me. If my resume gets fished out tand i get called to an interview hen who cares about grades?
You mean like when they go to bat for you, you get through the interview and then they request your transcripts and find out you lied your ass off and not only manipulated the one person who went to bat for you but wasted firm time and money in the process, effectively burning all of those bridges. Backfire like that?
Nah, I wouldn't worry about it.
If you are going to lie you might as well go all in, you taught homeless blind orphans how to read, if they actually request your transcript you're fucked so you might as well lie about your school too or just say you got a hair below perfect or both. Though you might pop on the background check if you lie about your school. In one of your past threads you asked if you could try and date the woman who gave you an informational interview. You might as well add an overstated cock size on your resume, under the section titled "other talents/interests."
Scorched earth m'fer.
ahhh I forgot about this.
OP, excuses are like assholes, everybody's got one, and they all stink. tell the truth.
if it were me, I'd look at your grades on your resume and if your GPA was below say 3.2, I'd ask why you think you didn't get better grades. if it was because you took 19 credit hours every semester in your chosen major of theoretical quantum physics (no idea if this is even a thing), worked 30 hours a week, were prez of your frat, and also had to care for your sick parents the entire year, I'd go to bat for you. if you had a hard time adjusting to college and bombed your first 3 semesters but have gotten 3.7-4.0 every semester since, I'd go to bat for you. I think everybody deserves a mulligan.
here's the deal: GPA is not a marker of intelligence, it's a marker of work ethic. I had an easy major but still knew plenty of smart people who didn't get the grades I did because I put forth more effort. I know lots of people who crushed hard majors and come off as idiots, but they're hard working idiots and put in the work to get the grade. people don't want to go to bat for someone who doesn't have work ethic. if you simply got mediocre grades every year of college and didn't have a reason for it (hard major doesn't count), the odds are against you.
Exactly.

why does the person who refers you tell your grades to HR?
