Did I Screw up my Moelis 2021 SA Interview

Hi guys, I am 3rd year university student from a top-tier college (WYH) and had an interview for SA 2021 in Moelis' NYC office. Due to the nature of recruiting (especially from a top target) I have been through a lot of interviews and therefore sometimes get lost in the sauce during some of my interview. So during my Moelis interview, when asked by the MD to pitch a short, I accidentally pitched one of my two shorts without thinking and that was on Moelis. Without going into the details of my thesis, about halfway through explaining the logic behind my short, the MD's facial expression turned from inquisitive to baleful and I promptly realized that I was pitching a short on the very company I was interviewing for.... Embarrassed as hell, I quickly reversed track and said that I meant PJT and then just improvised from there. He didn't really follow up on the pitch, as we moved to more technicals.

Did I blow it? Or does the fact that we moved on signal his approval?

I should also mention my uncle is a managing director at moelis and my interviewer is my neighbor I have known since I was a kid in CT.

What next guys :/

Why are you be pitching a short of Moelis if you are interviewing at any IB? There's no way you say something that doesn't also insult the bank your interviewing at or you just threw insults at your interviewer's buddy's bank who he meets up with during his 1 free hour of the month.

Also, your username doesn't really disguise what school you attend.

Buddy do you know IB interviews work? Do you even know what IB is - yes, it is possible to pitch a short on one bank that is premised on independent points. Sometimes I don't even want to post stuff on here because of the idiocy of 2nd-tier intellect that is so pervasive on this platform. And yes, you caught me, I go to Wharton. Maybe you should stop trolling kids on this site and go be a detective you charlatan. lol
