"Diversity"

I am in an 80% non-white (not counting asian) team and since day 1 I have been treated differently by analysts and associates (not really the interns), which doesn't happen with MDs or VPs.

There is like some fake connection where they talk like if they come from some imaginary ghetto background when literally 90% were born and raised in this country (I'm actually one of the 2 immigrants in my team) and, judging by what most of them wear, where they live and where they go on vacation, they come from wealthy families.

Since day 1 I have been shown that they much rather talk to them than me, while not even those interns themselves treat me like that.

Just wanted to post this as a complaint I obviously can't do in the office.

Because even though Asians represent 5% of the us population, 10% less than blacks and 15% less than hispanics, we aren't diverse enough to be included in diversity. Asians actually work hard and that's why we are the fastest growing race in the us in terms of wealth despite the majority immigrating in horrible racial and economic times. Not working hard gets you access to all kinds of recruiting advantages, yet working hard puts you behind everyone else. Diversity should be based on your income bracket if anything and definitely not on race.

Because there is a high percentage of Asians working in IB compared to their relative population in the US in contrast to other minority groups.

I feel bad for asian bros tbh, you guys are hustlers but no one ever gives you credit lol

Bro, if you think Asians should be included under diversity programs, just go ahead and make your argument. No need to bring up all this "people don't like me because I'm Asian" blah blah blah. It's possible you overestimate how interesting you are as a person, and that many in your office just don't find you interesting and relatable.
