Do HH recruit at the junior/analyst level?

Hi,

I'm trying to break into equities research from Big 4 audit. I emailed a headhunter w/ my resume and the HH told me that they don't recruit at the junior level. Their clients hire directly on campus for analysts. I remember hearing previously that somebody on this forum broke into IB through HHs. Mind sharing experience? Thanks in advance.

Sure. 2006 grad from non-target (still decent). Accounting, GPA 3.8+. GMAT 770. CFA level 2 candidate. Auditing one of the largest private equity funds. No CPA. Internship in equities research in an emerging market. Solid financial modeling skills. Looking for entry-level research positions -- I would assume I'm qualified. I haven't contacted other HHs yet. Do most HHs only do experienced placements?
