Does Location Matter for BB SA Recruiting?

As I start networking for a boutique IB internship I was wondering if it matters where I do my internship in terms of SA recruiting if I want to end up in NYC being on the west coast currently.

Really depends on what school you go to. Yes, a lot of banks have finished/are wrapping up recruiting now, but there are also a lot of banks who have not even started yet/have had only 1 super day.

I also suspect that more banks will follow JPM/Goldman and push back their recruiting next summer (I am sure there will be more reneging on offers than usual this cycle), but that is just my $.02

Oh sorry didn't get the context. I'm in my sophomore summer doing a boutique IB internship in the Southeast. It hasn't stopped me at all even being a nontarget. Already have an offer. I did take a trip to NY to network with people though and that helped tremendously.

When do you recommend going to NY to network? I'm thinking early to mid December as I'll be on break then, could possibly do spring break as well.
