eFinancialCareers - credible or completely rubbish?

Lately, I've been seeing eFinancialCareers on social media feeds as a source of news on markets in the US, Europe and London.

However, I'm starting to question whether the platform is reliable and has any standards.

Just this morning, they've posted a top 50 university students' list and they've basically just sourced all the finance presidents from the top 50 universities in the world, which is discreditable and completely useless. I know one of the presidents personally and they're not even in the 50th percentile of students who they claim is a "future MD" of the banking world.

Next, they've claimed McKinsey (an MBB) to be a member of the big 4... which it isn't. (they changed it after someone commented about it).

Recently, they claimed that a friend who I know from a MM left his job after a shake-up... which he didn't. He's still working there. (can't link for obvious reasons).

How the hell are these guys sourcing their information and second of all, why hasn't anything been done to stop these people posting this source of content? Several friends of mine have been posted on that website and nearly 70% of the articles they've written about them are completely false.

Any insight on this?

I'm pretty sure the news stories are just content to drive traffic to their job board.

They're not 100% accurate, for sure, but also not 100% false and useless. I do like how they share the comp stats which the HHs normally keep close to their chests (in my experience, takes 1-2 weeks for the HHs to respond after requesting, if at all).

Most of their sources are either 1. Other financial news 2. Anonymous randos 3. Headhunters. Pretty sure they do no independent journalism (beyond finding other news articles).
