Email Bank About Offer Decision After Superday

I had a superday with a bank last Friday, and I have a superday with a different bank this Friday. At the end of the interviews, HR told me I would hear back in 1-2 weeks. Would it be ok to email HR and ask if they've heard anything about my candidacy? I would also let them know that if I get their offer I will cancel my other interviews, but I need to know soon in order to cancel with the other bank with enough time. Thank you!

I went through this same situation. If I were you I would just do the interview and hopefully get an offer and then leverage that with the other bank. Usually if it is an offer you will hear back within 2-3 days.

If that's something that bothers you, you may not be cut out for banking.

No, I'm serious. Our bank just cut a really promising candidate because he wanted to do his interview over the phone rather than coming in. He was within a 2 hour drive.

If you want to be a banker, this needs to be all you think about. This is a "when you say jump, I say how high" kind of industry at the junior level. It sucks. But sometimes you got to eat the jab to land the hook, and recruiting involves eating a lot of jabs.

If you haven't heard back in 2 weeks, you're probably not cut. But you're only in if they don't get enough people to say yes. You're not a first round choice, but you're not out either. So keep your odds as high as possible and go to that second interview.
