Equity Research - H1B Sponsorship

Does anyone have insights on whether the firms that usually sponsor H1B for investment banking sponsor H1B for equity research roles in their New York offices. For reference, I am a Canadian citizen.

Some firms I am curious on include:

- Goldman Sachs

- Bank of America

- UBS

- Jefferies

- Morgan Stanley

Any insights would be greatly appreciated. If there's any firms that have an equity research arm that also sponsors, that would be great to know as well. Thanks!

Can’t speak for Equity Research, but all those firms sponsor to varying degrees for Investment Banking, with Jefferies, Goldman, and BofA being particularly friendly towards internationals and Morgan Stanley being case-by-case. In all cases, you need to have access to OPT or be working for that company in your home country to receive sponsorship, so you can start work while they try to get you a visa through the H1B lottery.
