ESG and the future of the planet
I was thinking about how apple stopped including the charger blocks in the packaging for new iPhones, claiming it was to reduce eWaste and what not. We all know the reality is they saved money on not including it, and the environmental impact was an afterthought. If it wasn’t a financial decision they would’ve offered anyone who wanted a charging block a free one. This moves on to my main point. All this ESG sustainalytics mandatory environmental reporting bullshit is all a fugazi. It’s pointless. We’re fucked. Our economic system is not designed to incentivize or prioritize long term thinking. We’re all living one quarter to the next. We’re fucked
