****European MSc 2025 Ranking****

Schools are ranked on prestige and IB placement in London. Regional schools place higher in their own market (HEC - Paris, Bocconi - Milan).

0: Oxford MFE, LSE Finance (+ Fin & PE), LBS MFA

1: HEC MIF, Bocconi MSc Finance

1.5: HSG MBF, Tier 0 non-flagship programs (e.g. LSE’s Finance & Risk, Finance & Economics)

2: RSM F&I, ESSEC MIF, ESCP MSc Finance, Tier 1 non-flagship programs (e.g. HEC’s MiM, Bocconi’s AFM)

3: Regional schools/programs (SSE, WHU, etc)

4: Everything else

Why? I could understand lowering LBS since their placement got worse and class size too large, but I wouldn't agree on LSE

M 25, deciding between three master’s programs in the Netherlands and would appreciate insights on which is the best choice for breaking into Investment Banking/M&A in London, particularly at Bulge Bracket firms. The programs are:

1. MSc BA – Accounting & Financial Management (Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University)

2. MSc Finance (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam – FT #56)

3. MSc Finance (Tilburg University – FT #47)

Which of these programs is the most recognized among London IB recruiters and practitioners?
Out of the 3, RSM is the only one considered semi-target for IB in london with extremely rare occasions amsterdam university. However, the Msc program at RSM (the one that’s open) is more tailored towards auditing rather than Corporate Finance/investments.

RSM does have a msc Finance and Investments but the registration for the upcoming year had closed extremely fast this year. If i wanna do this program i would have to wait till next year and when i graduate i’d be 27 and i feel that’s way too old for summer analyst positions. What do you guys think i should do? Any insights on whether reputation > what you study or overall strength for this career path would be greatly appreciated.

Absolutely disagree with tier 0 and 1. Tier 0 should be Oxford MFE and HEC MiF. I don’t know in what world LSE’s subpar MSc Finance placement beats HEC’s? Hugely overrated MSc, alongside LBS’s MFA, which should also be in Tier 1.

HEC should stay in it's tier IMO, it's good for the french market and the UK market but Oxford here is clearly better but HEC is the best of its tier

HEC would be better ranked if it wasn’t in France and the only way to get the full value in terms of employability is to be French or speak French which most people don’t.

Saw a post by an existing student at ESCP that the university is going to the dogs in terms of education. They are just playing the ranking mostly by raking Environment and Diversity points but all facade! Placements also weren't good this year as per the post and there is no coordination between the school management. Total shit show! The article should still be available on GMATClub!

Good list, im guessing schools like IE are going in the regional category. Also I think HEC's MiM program might place better than you think, especially given there's a M2M program with Yale.

LSE F&E shouldn't be on the list. This program is designed to prepare students for finance/economics PhD programs and doesn’t attract IB aspirants at all from the beginning. The coursework is also extremely quantitative and theoretical, leaving you with zero time for recruiting. Of course, getting into a top PhD program is only feasible for a handful of students in the program, so many still end up working in the industry. However, if you're a typical undergraduate business school student who never took math beyond Calculus 1 or 2, you won’t even get into the program.

Having Oxford in Tier 0 and above HEC is borderline insane - HEC and LBS are clearly the best programmes for placement

HEC would be better ranked if it wasn’t in France and the only way to fully utilize its pipeline is to be French/speak French which most ppl don’t. Thus its value for most ppl is lower than its value for some

For careers in London. LSE and LBS are without a doubt the best programmes to choose. All you need to do is look at the prospectuses and see where alumni go.

Completely unbiased take coming in:

Bocconi MSc only has tier 1 value if you are from Italy. Same for ESSEC / ESCP, good for France but not top for London.

HEC has placed insanely well the last 3 years, almost everyone I know went to IB or PE analyst positions unless they were not interested.

LBS was a great program but I heard the class sizes ballooned to almost 400 (!) and some students ended up with nothing. Kind of a sad cash grab tbh
