Evercore vs Lazard

Hey y'all I am new posting on here but was just curious of what people's takes might be:

If you guys had offers from both Evercore and Lazard (same group), what would you pick and what are your takes in terms of Compensation (Signing Bonus, Salary, EOY Bonus), exit opportunities into Buy-Side (specifically, PE, Growth Equity, and HF), Team Culture (FaceTime, hours, sweatshop or not, etc...)

Really appreciate everyone's help!

Ratings on a 0-100 scale:

Evercore: 99.5; Lazard: 99.2

In all seriousness, Evercore is slightly better but it's very slight

I find it hard to see a case for Lazard, perhaps excluding Rx (though Evercore rx has been crushing it, so EVR still wins). The bank’s been going downhill amongst the EBs as they’ve expanded, and frankly the classes are too. I know for a fact there are more and more diversity hires who are just dumb.

Best answer.

EVR by a mile. It’s not even close on comp either, especially at associate+

Let’s put it this way. Both have very similar and strong brand names and will both get you buy side looks from almost anywhere. Don’t think it’s a stretch to say they have the strongest names of all boutiques. Especially Lazard internationally. However, comp at Evercore will be ~10% higher.

Evercore comp is at least 25% higher

lazard pay always trailed Moelis and Evercore by more than 10%
