Can't go wrong with either. If I was in your shoes I would look at it like this:

- Comp: CVP

- Exits: EVR

- Culture: CVP

- Brand name both in and outside finance: EVR

Kinda splitting hairs so honestly, I can't say with 100% certainty which I would choose but I might lean toward EVR because personally for me exits (PE) and brand name were always the most important things. But it depends on what you value. With that said as far as your actual banking experience, and especially for the idea of being a career banker (which I personally do find attractive as well) I don't think there's a better place to be than CVP.

Ultimately it depends on what you value and if you could see yourself recruiting for buy side imo

EVR has reached the size where it kinda depends on group (I interned there)

Know someone who interned at CVP and moved to EVR full time so don’t think so

While the EVR analyst program is 3 years, you still exit after 2 years as opposed to CVP where you are expected to stay 3.

Have heard very suspect things about the culture in the CVP PA office... plus they aren't even very good in tech. If this were NY, it would be better.

some assholes at the mid-level. 100 hr weeks as first year analyst. exits suck. not interesting deals (aka boring tech, semi's, hardware, boring SaaS companies)
