Exit ops from DCM
Hi. I am just curious about what past experiences or opinions are on exit ops from a DCM desk. Have any major BB analysts exited successfully? Or are you stuck there forever? Thanks

I imagine Private Credit might be a good fit. However the most common DCM exit that I have seen is to other teams a groups within the bank.
you mean switching from financing to coverage? how hard is that?
From the people that I have talked to, IF you are the top of your group/have good standing, not terribly hard.
I work in a DCM group right now. People exit to other coverage groups, private credit, and asset management. One person to VC too.
PE is out of question since you’ll need really solid modeling skills, which are easier to pick up when you’re in coverage.
That was super helpful. What are your hours like and when your colleagues moved to coverage did they lose a year in the transition or were they given the same title/ equal credit for their work experience?
I would like to second this, would you be a year behind and just be an an1 again?
As someone who went from DCM to PE, I disagree
How was your experience going straight from DCM to PE? Did recruiters/firms question your experience?
How did you also prepare for modeling tests?
bumping. Anyone else have experiences?
