Financial Sponsors groups

I know this has been discussed before, but the landscape is always changing so I wanted to see if anyone knew much about the following Sponsors groups. Any feedback or input would be appreciated. I am looking for information on culture, quality of people, type of work, and level of modeling/execution.

  • CS Sponsors NY
  • BarCap Sponsors NY
  • DB Sponsors NY
  • MS Sponsors NY
  • MS Sponsors SF
  • BAML Sponsors NY
  • Citi FEG/Sponsors NY

Feel free to PM if you'd prefer to chat offline.

@boutique "i know kids from piper jaffray at kkr and blackstone too??"

Piper Jaffray is a very solid firm but I've never heard of any Piper kids at KKR or BX Private Equity. Unless you mean KKR Capital Markets or Blackstone M&A (which is realistic...Piper M&A-->HBS->BX M&A) I find that pretty hard to believe

i know someone from piper who went to kkr, though he isn't there any longer. it was kkr financial though, not kkr pe

you don't need to be at a "top" bank to get into megafunds - i just recently worked on a deal with someone at a megafund who did her analyst stint at edgeview, for example. also know someone at tpg from sagent.

boutiquebank4life is a joke though. works at a shitty no name bank, got rejected trying to lateral to a bunch of borderline bb's (ubs, wf, etc), and now spends all his time on these boards making fun of them

^ you must either a) still be in college or b) be a REALLY crappy boutique if you're still bashing on banks.

everyone did it in college, but people that actually work on the street have more important things that deserve their attention.
