First Day of First FT Job (AN1) advice

I start my first ever full-time job in a few weeks as an analyst at a boutique. I've had internships in the past but not with this firm. Like anyone, I'm kinda nervous to start and want to be a great addition to the team and make a solid impact. I want to prepare as best as possible, I got all the technical questions right on their interviews and have an econ/finance background in college, but I'm sure there's always room for growth.

Does anyone have any advice as too if/how I should better prepare? Thanks

At some point you're going to be put in general population. Your first day there, you find the biggest, baddest one in the yard and I want you to walk right up to them and pop them in the mouth. As soon as they hit the ground, I want you to pop them again and don't stop until they stay down.

You have to assert yourself in these situations. You don't want them to think you're weak, do you?

Don’t prepare. Enjoy the last few weeks of freedom. Do what we can’t: go out to eat on a Friday night, grab drinks on a Wednesday, plan something to do with friends. Your life is gonna suck in a few weeks, don’t ruin your last few trying to prep as youll learn everything on the job.

In terms of advice, the most important thing you can do is build rapport with your team. Do things right and ask questions when needed. Don’t wait until a deadline to ask questions. Go through a whole task, do as much as you can, and when you can’t do any more without asking questions, ask someone you’re working with to hop on the phone and ask them all at once. Don’t make the same mistake twice and don’t ask the same question twice. Google every question and if you can’t find it in 10 minutes, ask.
