Former MD Referral? Not sure if this qualifies
A person within my network who is strongly vouching for me formerly worked as a MD at a bank I'm interested in and he has sent my resume to the head of IB recruiting for the bank (he had worked with her for many years), who accepted my resume and agreed to have a chat with me (former MD asked if I could connect with her).
Given that he is no longer with the firm, does this still qualify as a referral? Should I keep networking with bankers to get a referral, or count this as one? Or is this just demonstrated interest? All a bit ambiguous and would appreciate any insight!

Yes it counts lmao. You're talking to the head of IB recruiting now.
yeah wtf... how would this not count? he hooked you up with the head of IB recruiting.
lmao, if you don't get an interview, that MD must have been fired
