1 year stint in Boutique firm, MDs keep leaving… incredibly sweaty and greedy upper management that cuts bonus. I am on the west coast and I want to stay in SellSide but have an opportunity to go to FP&A. Will I pigeon hole myself if I stay for a year or two?

Interested. Bump. Likely easier to go back than if you went buy side. Might not come back as an associate imo.
Will be pretty hard to move back unless markets significantly improve. Exiting after 1 year to a 9-5 implies you couldn't hack the hours/intensity, especially from a boutique where you don't have the name brand / ability to go downmarket when you return.
If you can get a PE or lateral IB job that will be easier to move from
