GE Capital VS BB Commercial Banking - Which is better for IB?
Hi,
I am currently a sophomore at UNC, and am planning on recruiting for an IB position for my junior summer.
I have 2 offers: one from GE Capital in EFS, and one from a BB in commercial banking.
Which would position me strongest for IB recruiting?
GE capital has a vast network in banking, especially within levfin and DCM. A lot of these folks are seniors from when GE sold off it's direct lending division now known as Antares capital, hence the credit emphasis. For an internship, I personally would take GE. In general it has an excellent brand name outside of finance and it may be pretty interesting work. Can't really go wrong with either though for a sophomore gig.
