Goldman Sachs IMD GSAM
I received a SA 2019 offer (current junior, graduating May 2020) for Goldman Sachs Asset Management within the Investment Management Division. I'm torn about accepting - not really sure how I managed to get this offer, so therefore don't really know much about the job. I've been trying to search all over the internet, on Goldman's website, and even reach out to people on LinkedIn but I've had no luck so I was hoping people from here would be able to help me out.
First of all, does anyone know how they do group placement? All I know from my recruiter is that my offer is within IMD, GSAM, Americas Client Business. I have no idea what this means in terms of exactly what I'll be doing. I was hoping for more specific info about my actual role.
How many interns does GSAM take and is there a lot of competition for getting a return offer?
What's the culture like? Avg # of hours per week, workload, interaction within the team, etc.
Any general thoughts on GSAM compared to other asset management or IB opportunities? Not sure if I should deny and continue pursuing IB recruitment as I originally planned, or just accept since Goldman is such a great opportunity.
Thanks in advance!
