Goldman Sachs Internship Background Check

Hi guys, I recently got a summer internship offer from GS in the operations division. I have a question about their background check. In my resume, I listed my major GPA under "GPA:...", but not specifies as "Major GPA:...". I assume that they would think the number after GPA on my resume is my cumulative GPA not my major GPA, and then consider that I'm lying in the application? Should I contact the HR and tell them the GPA I listed on my resume is my major GPA not cumulated?

Thanks for sharing your opinions in advance.

If you got the offer, I would go ahead and reach out. They won't rescind your offer if you tell them, but there is a possibility if they find out on their own.

Check your transcript to see if that GPA is listed as "Major GPA" specifically somewhere. If so, then you're good, because they can't hold it against you for not specifying. But if that number is something that you just calculated on your own, even though it's technically not false, I would let them know. Better safe than sorry.

I wonder why it would take so long to do a background test. I'm assuming they just check to see if you have a criminal past and see if your drug results come clean?
