Quantitative Equities and Quantitative Strategies Group - it's essentially a series of direct hedge funds that employ quant strategies to create alpha....... CAN anyone comment on this?

very secretive, very good, they had generated unbelievable returns (until last year) and think the intenship will get u hired f/t pretty much anywhere.

You're only going to get anecdotal advice here. There is a whole community of finance quants over at Wilmott.com who can easily answer your questions.

Why don't you make things easy on yourself and take your questions to Wilmott?

And like I said earlier, you can probably search their message board archive to get all the info you need on interview questions and GS' quant fund.

You're welcome.

Is this the same thing as Goldman's Quantitative Resoruces Group (QRG)? If so, I interviewed with them...expect lots of technical questions (lots of probability) plus some programming questions.

And yeah, they mostly hire undergrads to code for them. But you'll get exposure to the senior people and if you go out and get a PHD eventually, you can make it big there.

Goldman's QRG is an amazing internship to have and really hard to get. You seem kind of confused though, kmahajan. How'd you end up interviewing there in the first place if you know so little about it?

Again, though, I'm not sure what you're interviewing for is the same thing as QRG.
