Group is in SF but I want NYC

I've been getting pretty far in the interview process for a group who's based out of San Fransisco. I think they mentioned that the expectation is for the new analyst to be in SF but they also have people all over the country and New York obviously.

I've been scared to bring up that I would only take the offer if it's in New York because I dont want to just get dropped immediately. Do you think I should be upfront and honest with them or should I see if I get the offer first and then be like hey by the way I'm only accepting if I can be in the NYC office.

I've worked in SF offices my whole (short) career so far and been in charge or running recruitment and can tell you that the hiring is totally separate from NYC hiring. Usually the hiring is done at different times and they cannot really help you get into the NYC office process. The only potential route would be if you spend a year or two in the SF office you could transfer.
