anyone have experience changing groups for SA role? just got placement and would like to switch but don’t want to piss off HR or my current group. would they find out if i request a switch to HR?

Probably JPM, they released results yesterday
It’s tricky because you don’t want to do it during the summer for obvious reasons but if you wait till you get a return offer then you’re (somewhat) screwing then over if you hit them with it then. I’m not sure exactly what advice to give you but unless you HATE the group I would stay. What’s wrong with the group?
I tried and was unsuccessful. Would recommend waiting to get the return offer but it is tricky regardless
Have many friends who did this, just go through the summer with the group and then at the end, when you inevitably have a bunch of people who move to better/different banks, more slots will open and you can usually switch pretty easily 80% of the time. No idea why everyone here is making it so complicated lol you just tell HR when they give you the full time offer and say "I wanna switch." Network with the group you want during the summer. This is completely normal and quite common.
