GS Undergraduate Camp DOs and DON'TS?

Hi,

Who has gone through this program and would like to share any insights? What did you do or learn? Who were you able to meet? I assume this is a networking opportunity, what are suggested actions after completing the camp?

Thank you.

DO: Be Gay, suck mormon weiners, say Goldman is the most gay-friendly bank, wear a brown suit with a pink tie. DON'T: talk to women-easiest way to get blacklisted at Gayman Sachs. Talk about sports- most GS people only care about lgbt matters and Caitlyn Jenner.

I did it last year. In my opinion, the program was very focused on promoting back/middle office roles such as compliance, FP&A, internal audit, etc. There was many networking opportunities but they were very brief, and the employees from the top (IBD, AM, ER, S&T) would get swarmed by students trying to network, so it was difficult to build a real connection. I suggest get their contact info and try to set up a time to talk afterwards. Overall it was a great experience that will def. get you at least a 1st round interview next Summer and looks good on resume.

Would like to hear from other monkeys' experiences as well!

That's generally good advice at these events. Hit them up later when they're not swarmed.

Also think about hitting up the FP&A folks if you're a sophomore. That would be a good first internship Tom get.

So you're now stalking me on every thread?

You DO realize that it is not particularly difficult to figure out where you work? Even if I can't figure out your email (again, NOT a huge challenge...there's websites where I can punch in a username and it will tell me) then you've posted more than enough personal information to figure it out.

Mostly bitching about how you've been failing at recruiting.

DO: Be black.

DON'T: Be white.

Don´t say this in a banking interview: Which superhero would you be and why? I want to be like Robin Hood, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor - me.
