Gugg TMT no doubt. Don't think PWP is that good in SF.
I’ve heard horrible things about PWP Tech SF (one alumni doesn’t take phone calls because they don’t want to subject others to the misery). Have confirmed with other analysts that it’s a complete sweatshop with subpar deal flow and rough culture - take Gugg NYC
interesting, networked with the group (4 people) and seemed like culture was really good. alumni from where?
Same here, heard that it's a sweatshop and that culture is bad and that their analysts get destroyed / have a miserable time
I've heard Gugg TMT is a top group, no? I've heard they have excellent deal flow, pretty good culture, and they were ranked number 2 by vault for compensation. Would even take it over PWP NYC.
I've heard the same as you regarding deal flow and culture however I am aware that the Vault rankings had Gugg above Evercore and PJT for compensation which doesn't seem accurate. Unless the ranking criteria was compensation relative to hours worked or something of that sort instead of the absolute number.
Yeah that's true. I've heard Evercore pays the most after CVP.
At the Associate level, my friend in Guggenheim got same signing and bigger stub than EVR for this past year. Wouldn’t be surprised if top top performers at Guggenheim get more than EVR top bucket In some cases simply because they’re smaller and can be more flexible.
That said, it’s splitting hairs (~60k vs 50k for the stub)
Thought Gugg is generalist
Yes, gugg is generalist for both the summer and the first few months of ft
Work at a diff EB. Gugg TMT no brainer unless you particularly want to be on the west coast. Very good group, particularly in media and telecom space. Big deals and the best group in Gugg to exit from
