I did - Risk Management though
I didn't use VBA or really any macros during my internship in my M&A internship. Just plain old excel modeling...
all the interns who worked on my desk had to do excel projects...and they all required writing some VBA code....just recording and playing back a macro was not enough...so yes, you should learn how to code in VBA.
I think it really depends on the group you are in, what is the group of your internship DCF_king?
