Help getting into IB or FO

I'll cut to the chase. I've been actively applying for a job for almost a year now. Background is non-target school (Greater NY) 3.4 GPA class of 2017. Have taken a banking course and have received some interest when applying on LinedIn and even internally. Work in HF Ops and am desperately trying to get out. A little over two years in this current role but still feel like it is too early for me to just give up getting into an analyst position and going all in for MBA (plus it's expensive). However, I feel like applying on LinkedIn/online apps at this point is a waste of time. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Online apps/Linkedin is a waste. Go place yourself in an area where theres IB people Wesfield Century City Mall if your in LA and go network. Try to sit down at a dinner table or in starbucks and listen in finally chime in when the time is right and make sure they like you. Boom now you've met two or more bankers that want to help, perhaps the whole team. This is it especially for those who didnt get an internship. sorry bro.

This may be the single worst idea in the history of WSO. Doing this will spread your name far and wide and for all of the wrong reasons. You may never be able to recruit in LA ever again if you did this.
