How bad is regening?
How bad is reneging? If you accept an offer and then go back on it a couple months later for a full time position. Obviously it would ruin your relationship with that bank / team but is it really that big of a deal in terms of new firms if they found out later on?
Consensus seems to be that context matters - if you're rejecting JPM for I dunno, MS, that could be risky. If you're reneging from CS, everybody gets it, or if you're reneging from Stout for Moelis. Also if it's like a location thing (reneging Houston for NYC), that also seems to be more ok. Just try not to disclose that you reneged to anyone ever as much as you can, obviously.
What if it’s still in finance but a slightly different job? Such as reneging from a bank for a buyside firm?
