How do I go about collecting my bonus and leaving for PE?

Not sure how this work.

Say my PE offer start date is August 1st

But our IB bonuses aren’t announced / paid until say August 20th.

Will I be forfeiting my bonus if I leave / resign for my PE job before the day they are paid out?

Also, won’t higher ups screw me over with my bonus if they know I’m leaving to PE?

Can someone help with managing this ?
