I have recieved many such responses in my exp of interviewing. This type always fucking annoys me. Your response is alright, but you should move on. I’m certain you are not their top choice otherwise they’d be fast tracking you...

Oh that makes sense. I thought you meant that when you were interviewing candidates for a position, you were annoyed when candidates followed up with you.
Your response is fine, not much else you can say. Agreed that these type of responses are annoying, as you were probably a good enough to candidate to not nix from the process right away but are wait listed as they continue the process and interview more people/wait for responses for people they offered. Depends a little bit if this was a super day or an earlier round. If an earlier round then possible they're are just interviewing other people and will send out super day invites once everyone else has completed a first round interview which can take a couple weeks or so if it's a more unstructured process. you are on the B-list...know your place. do not reply right away....wait 4-6 weeks and then reply to the email, ask how their interviewing process is going, and in that email, ask if there are any questions they might have for you. This is a way for both sides to save face, while still keeping options open, and lets them know you are still available.
