How do I respond to this response to my follow-up email?

I wrote a follow-up email to the head of the M&A team one week after my interview and this was her response:

Hi XXXX,

Thank you for following up. We are still in the early stages of the interviewing process. We will let you know.

Thanks again,

XXXX

I plan to respond by saying:

Hi XXXX,

Thank you for the update. I look forward to hearing from the team.

Best regards,

XXXX

Is my response fine?

I have recieved many such responses in my exp of interviewing. This type always fucking annoys me. Your response is alright, but you should move on. I’m certain you are not their top choice otherwise they’d be fast tracking you...

I meant that I am annoyed when people aren't being fully transparent with me. I wasn't suggesting that you annoyed me by posing this question...

Your response is fine, not much else you can say. Agreed that these type of responses are annoying, as you were probably a good enough to candidate to not nix from the process right away but are wait listed as they continue the process and interview more people/wait for responses for people they offered. Depends a little bit if this was a super day or an earlier round. If an earlier round then possible they're are just interviewing other people and will send out super day invites once everyone else has completed a first round interview which can take a couple weeks or so if it's a more unstructured process. Good luck
