Where do independent sponsors get funding for a transactions, would it be mainly Co-Investments teams? From my knowledge they're essentially fundless sponsors, so they don't engage funding until an opportunity is identified.

Is this similar to a search fund?
Yeah in that they're both fundless sponsors and raise by transaction basis, however not too sure how the process looks in raising capital from either side.
