How do write-ups affect income statement.

Can't find this on the internet so asking it here.

When you write-down an asset, its recorded as an expense on the Income statement. It's non-cash so it's added back in CFO. What about write-ups? Is this recorded as a non-operating revenue on the Income statement and then adjusted for on Cash Flow Statement?
