How is Goldman Sachs internal transfers Backoffice to FrontOffice?

How does GS look at internal transfers, esp BO to FO and is it really doable if you're in one of European offices (Poland) and aiming for IB?

Mate you’ve made about 10 threads on the topic of staying at GS BO or moving to that M&A boutique. The answers you receive won’t change:

  • You will not be able to go BO > FO at Goldman
  • M&A experience will open the door for you

Just take the job and stop stressing about it. If you overanalyse everything like this then you’re going to fail in the industry anyway, so I suggest you work on your mindset.

Thanks a lot :) had few senior VPs telling me to stay and move internally in few years instead of leaving now. So I wanted to understand about it and ask around. Appreciate your input!
