With all the layoffs everywhere else, how is Greenhill doing? Incoming FT analyst -- a little worried given the firm's performance

Surprisingly no layoffs so far..
Agree here. I know of 2 MDs that were let go, but don’t know of anyone other than that.
It’s a public company, so you can look up their financials and earnings transcripts.
Following, incoming summer associate
Currently at the firm (I haven’t updated my title on WSO). It seems like things are more or less fine (aside from the aforementioned MD reductions, but those were warranted). The real tell will be when Q4 earnings come out on Feb 1.
Would you be able to share any info on analyst bonuses earlier this year? I saw that they were delayed -- did you ever hear why? thanks so much
Heard bonuses were solid
We got several different explanations from the seniors, not sure which, if any, were true. They included “we forgot to put it in payroll and HR is on vacation” and “we wanted to see our peers’ comp rates” lol
The bonuses were good, however. To avoid being specific / outing myself, I got a >80k bonus and I know I’m not top-bucket.

We were told in October 22 by Scott Bok that there would be no layoffs, and to date that has held true. A couple MDs (RE, and RX) were let go for social and performance-related issues. Rumor has it we are hiring opportunistically at all levels.
Why are non producing MDs get to keep their jobs? Strange
They didn't, 2-3 were let go.
