How much is your internship discussed in FT interviews?

Subject essentially says it all: if you've had a banking internship, how much time will typically be spent discussing it during FT interviews? Should most of your anecdotes draw on your internship experience?

BankingRUs9If it is your first FT interview and your internship is finance related, 30%+ of your interview will discuss your past experience, so know past transactions and projects well. Don't take it lightly, even if you have done very well academically and know your technicals.

I can just imagine some sycophant kid going off and running scenario analysis in Excel on how long he should talk about his experience (based on interview time limit), and how much shit he should make up to pad it out.

OP, peopl who've bene through multiple interviews you can suggest how much focus is typically given to past experience, but giving exact numbers (such as 30%) is stupid. Some interviewers will just want a broad understanding of what you've done, and some interviewers will be looking to pin you into the ground and dissect everything you say.

You know you've been working too hard when you stop dreaming about bottles of champagne and hordes of naked women, and start dreaming about conditional formatting and circular references.

Interns don't normally get a whole let of transaction experience though, I thought? It's only the beginning so I can't tell. Even if you're not an integral part of the transaction team, you basically just need to know what's going on and be able to discuss what was happening in interviews?

every interviews i got, I discussed about my internship 70%+ of the time. It's usually a mix of why we should hire you/ your internship exp/ technical question derived from my internship

I'd say it really depends on your interviewer, but they will sepnd over 1/3 of the time asking about your internship, making sure you know what your'e talking about

I had similar experiences - 1/3 or more of the interview was spent discussing my internship and what I did. Know all the numbers for deals or analysis you performed, as you will get asked, and you should be able to coherently explain what you did and why. Also review the rationale for why you did the analysis/deals you did, so you can explain the thought processes behind it

Aright, but what if dealflow was slowwww and you only worked on maybe one, and only pitched a couple? How exactly do interns "work on a deal" (i.e. what do they do)?
