How to allocate ~$20k as a current senior?

Hi all, was fortunate enough to have some savings over SAs. I’m graduating college next year and I’m wondering how y’all would recommend allocating ~$20k to build a solid financial basis as a young professional in IB?

Currently also have a few grand allocated to ETFs if that helps. Thanks!

I'd just put it in a low-cost index portfolio like IVV, VOO etc (lower-cost S&P500 index funds). If you want to trade a bit on your own, maybe keep like $1-5k for yourself to play with. Most firms will heavily limit trading once you start though.

Assuming you're early 20s, just putting it in the market and forgetting about it is the best way to build yourself a nest egg. You may also have to dip into this a bit to pay for things like apartment upfront fees, movers etc - signing bonuses don't always hit in time
