How to find out which MD is leading a deal?

Hi,

I was wondering how/where you can find out which MD is leading a particular announced deal on both sides of a transaction.

The release always has this bank will be advising buyer and this will be advising target but how can you find out which group and individual are leadinginvolved.

Thanks. New to the finance sector and would be very grateful.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, to find out which Managing Director (MD) is leading a particular announced deal, you can follow a few steps:

  1. Press Releases: Look for press releases from the companies involved in the transaction. These often mention the advisory banks and sometimes the key individuals involved.
  2. Investor Relations: Visit the investor relations section of the public companies' websites. They may have presentations or conference call transcripts that provide details on the deal and the individuals leading it.
  3. News Outlets: Check financial news outlets such as Bloomberg, Financial Times, or Wall Street Journal equivalents in the region for any articles on the deal. Journalists may report on the key bankers involved.
  4. Industry Networking: Utilize your network or platforms like LinkedIn to gather insights. Sometimes professionals involved in the deal may update their profiles with the transaction details.
  5. Bank Announcements: Banks sometimes issue their own press releases or internal announcements celebrating their involvement in significant deals, which may include the names of the lead MDs.

Remember, the availability of this information can vary, and some deals, especially private transactions, may not disclose the names of the individual bankers involved.
