How to get an Internship in Finance as a Freshman in college....

I don't understand how people get internships when they're a freshman without connections. Everywhere I look all companies want are juniors.

I'm not even being picky, I really just want to get my feet wet in the finance world this summer but I can't find anything. Do any of you have any resources or tips I should use to find something? I've been using my school's career website a bunch but I don't really know where to look outside of that.

Everyone is always saying "cold email" employers, which I'm willing to do, but I don't even know who I should be sending these cold emails to.

Please send help
