How to transition Informational Interview to more personal questions?

I'm currently setting up informational interviews, and I'm doing decent, but I sometimes have trouble transitioning the conversation to their personal life and interests. I usually just ask standard info interview questions and like towards then end, around 2/3rds of the way through the 20-30 mins, I ask what they do outside the office in their spare time, but sometimes the transition is jarring. Any tips?
