HY/LevFin/RX Credit HF Path

For someone who has a credit background (MM buy side credit - CRE), but no banking experience. What would be the best way to go from CRE lending to HY/Distressed corp credit at a HF? I have limited corp LevFin experience (~3mo internship with my current firm) and I have been exploring LevFin or RX IB groups options (or HY Credit Research). Not sure if it’s a step back, but having the IB brand name on your resume is definitely a plus for HFs (from what I’ve seen).

Any advice helps. Thanks.
