Meh. What he said ^

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

Well, to be honest I really haven't found anything as of now that's sparked my interest, but through my school's career development center I've been forwarded to a variety of internships, mostly dealing with investment banking. I'd just like to have a summer internship set up this year if possible, and at the very least I'd like to enter a profession that's fairly lucrative, secure, etc. It wouldn't have to be IB but that's what I've been referred to thus far and as an economics major it seems to fit. I'm really just trying out new things to find what will work and what wont.

I understand that's part of the reason I asked here in the first place and why I'd like to intern to have an idea if what IB is like. I'm not sure how else I could do that. Thanks for the site.

Any other help would be appreciated about IB.

Hi, I was unclear in what I meant. My point- in response to your latest comment- is that you will never get an internship in IB without knowing a lot about it first. Learn all you can by reading/talking to people, and apply to the internships you can access through your school.

"Any other help would be appreciated about IB-" you will find people on this site that are happy to offer advice and help, but again- it's very hard to provide any real information without more specific questions/requests.

Not a troll and I've only had an account here since August and it's been inactive till now, I've been caught up with my job. I'd like to know how I might become more familiar with the functions of economies, gain specific quantitative knowledge within the field of banking and finance, reading stocks, analyzing financial statements etc. I'm just not well versed when it comes to the real world applications of what I've learned in class. I think reading up on those things might help with internships and I've already spoken with representatives of firms who are willing to help me out with my search. I was wondering if their were any books I should look into, summer learning opportunities and websites (I've looked but my search is coming up short as I'd like a more comprehensive, intro understanding of IB.)

Any help?

Thanks
