IB AN1 Called to Jury Duty
Hey all, Ignore title, I am an AN1. I got called to jury duty recently and I know I have to go and don't have control over it, I'm just worried if it would look bad on me since it's still only my third month on the desk as a new AN1. Anyone else been through this or how the best way to bring this up with my staffer would be? Or if I should ask to defer given it’s a high demanding job until next year as an AN 2 maybe so I’m more senior and have proven myself? Curious to hear thoughts and how I should bring this up in a way that won't look bad on my part (only mostly worried due to me being so new to the job still). Thanks in advance.
Agree with you here Pus’ such a bs profession full of hardos.
Jesus Christ its jury duty lmao, why are people in IB so neurotic
Most banks will understand, but if you’re concerned, go with the old “I’m a big fan of Jury Nullification”, and see yourself out within the hour.
Just ask your staffer that’s it
I mean by law you have to go lmao. I don't know what other answer you want, you could ig ask to reschedule but either way they're just gonna ask you to serve it a few months later
Man I hate this industry
We usually just fire analysts that get called for jury duty.
This is what I hate about IB. I've always been the type of guy that just delivers the work they've been assigned on time, but I have to compete with these people who pant and sweat for extra work and ask for permission to sneeze/piss.
