IB internship not enjoying too much for me
Im going to be honest but I do not like what Im doing. Its too much for me to take and its affecting my health. Im working as a SA at an IB. I dont know if im going to get a return offer but even if I do, how do I convey them at the end of the summer about this

probably gonna start talking to people in other finance/consulting type jobs that seem chiller soon to get a feel for whats out there and what i like. then i'll take it from there i guess. are you in nyc this summer? just wondering as id like to meet more people
No, im not in NYC. I just dont know whats gonna happen at the end of the internship. Like how im gonna tell them about this
i feel like it's probably the best to try to get a return offer (for security reasons + other firms may ask), and once you have that you can always decline or talk to the firm's HR about moving to another division if that interests you
I want to return back to my home city that’s the problem and they dont have an office there
Do whatever you can to secure the return offer and then use that as leverage when job searching. It's fine to renege on your return offer to move closer to home.
