IB, PE, or CorpDev

I am currently a high school student looking to go into a career in finance. I've looked at most the options, and I would like to go into IB for the exit opportunities in PE and hedge funds. I know that the hours will be terrible, but is it worth the effort? One of my teachers also suggested corporate development.

How much of a difference does it make if I do or do not go to a target school?

Thanks
